Eyeo Festival 2012 was amazing.

• The Text & Archive workshop gave me a chance to stretch my skills and do some ’70s-style programming (“This is old magic.”) as well as see new ways of working with large text files. I was inspired by Mark Hanson’s New York Times Lobby installation and by Jer Thorp’s text projections. I have a 452 page pdf. Now if I could remember how we did all that unix manipulation!
• I loved the Drawing and Code workshop with Shantell Martin and Zach Lieberman. They gave drawing the respect it deserves as well as having us make some actual work. I was inspired to think about drawing beyond my normal confines and really think about line as a way to interact with other and with code.
